He won first prize and came in the limelight of a local radio DJ in the crowd, who invited him to come on air. The video of his performance was uploaded on Dec 9 and got more than 620,000 hits. The amazingly strong tone and grown up vocal command have triggered some audience to doubt whether or not the video offers Thibault’s voice at all.
He has won People's Choice Award 2013 for the tag "In the Shoes of Elvis". In an interview David expressed his excitement and mentioned that ,"At the start of this, I panicked a little. The phone was ringing off the hook. It's like a dream. I don’t know how to explain that. But I am trying to take advantage of it. . . It's not everyone that gets a chance like this.".
